MOMS: Community Kitchen

KELLY & RANDI

Owners of MOMS Chicago, Kelly Ijichi and Randi Howery are working alongside other community members to combat food insecurity due to the pandemic.

Community Kitchen & Canteen, a food service program providing complementary boxed lunches to in-need residents, families, and workers in Chicago, have become a widespread movement for food justice.

By hiring cooks and other restaurant workers, Community Kitchen is able to provide work for unemployed workers to continue earning an income while serving food to residents during the pandemic.

Kelly and Randi works alongside the staff of Marz Brewery, Kimski, and Maria's Packaged Goods to prepare hot meals that are distributed across Chicago. Partnered with The Love Fridge Chicago, they also stock donated meals, perishable and non-perishable food items for different Chicago communities.

Take a look at how MOMS Chicago, Marz, and local community members are combating food insecurity across Cook County through gourmet meals and food donations.
